This year has been en emotional and physical struggle for us all but the one thing it has given us it time. Months of quiet sales and no markets has finally given me the thinking space I needed to work out where I'd like to be heading.
It's always good to be able to take a breath and look at how far you've come. OK, I haven't had anytime to do that in the last few weeks but during lockdown 1.0 there was a lot of time to get lost in thoughts. If there was an emotion that ever existed relating to being self-employed, running a business and working out whether you were on the right path, I felt it!
In fact, at one point I was all poised to throw in the towel and go back to an office (hypothetically speaking as most of them were empty). But, after a serendipitous encounter with a free online course about taking stock and getting grips to your creative business, something clicked and I've had a new lease of life. I've finally managed to put in to words my 'why'. What drives me, where do I want to be, how do I want to get there and everything in between.
I'm telling you all this because things are going to be stepping up a notch and I'm strapping in for quite the ride. You'll see little tweaks and changes that will not only streamline how I work, and how you see my work for sale, but will hopefully mean you'll get to know more about me and why I do this. The juicy stuff. The work in process, the hows and the whys. The next few months are going to be epic and I'm excited to share the journey with you. For starters, head to the new updated ABOUT page to find out what inspires me and what keeps me doing what I'm doing.
Here's to the future!! But, let's enjoy the past and pat ourselves on the back for all that we've achieved so far.
